Lady Gaga Addresses Madonna’s “Reductive” Comment In Concert

Scott Gries/Getty Images Entertainment
.
Last night Lady Gaga added more fuel to the feud she currently has with Madonna by telling the crowd in Helsinki, Finland, “We don’t give a f*ck — we know the truth,” in response to Madonna’s claims Gaga has ripped of her act.
.
This isn’t it as after the comment Gaga also flashed her thong which is what Madonna has been doing on her MDNA tour and then performed a cover of The Material Girl’s hit “Like A Prayer,” which seems interesting when you consider the fact that Madonna is currently covering Gaga’s “Born This Way” on her tour. Are you caught up so far?

This whole feud started last year when Madonna called out Gaga’s “Born This Way” as being “reductive” of her song “Express Yourself.” Until now Gaga has taken the high road and when she was asked about Madonna’s comment on 20/20 back in January she responded, “If the queen says it shall be, then it shall be,” but this seems to show that maybe Gaga has decided to take the offensive.
.
Do you think that Gaga’s actions will cause Madonna to respond or do you think there’s room for two princesses in the pop world? Let us know in the comments section below as you listen to some Lady Gaga Radio!

Lady Gaga's Extreme Photoshopping; Miranda Kerr's Infant Son Is Model Material

Whoa: See how much the Lady Gaga Vogue cover was Photoshopped (hint: it’s a lot). Buzzfeed caught a glimpse over Gaga's pre-Photoshopped body on b-roll from the magazine's cover shoot.  [Buzzfeed]

Better Werk: Miranda Kerr's son Flynn is not even two years old -- but he might soon be catwalk ready.  “He knows the drill when we get on the plane and he likes to walk up and down the aisle smiling at everyone,” she told The Daily Express, “He will stand there until each person notices him.  Once he gets a smile he’s on to the next person.” [The Daily Express]

Pretty Boy: Olympic gold medal-winning boxer Luke Campbell of team great Britain has been signed to Select Model Management. The agency was reportedly intrigued after seeing a series of Peter Lindbergh photos of the twenty-four year old in British Vogue prior to the games. “The combination of his strong genuine character and great look has appealed to the fashion world, Dounia Benjelloul of Select told The Telegraph, “The fact the boy then went and won a gold medal for the country is an added bonus and couldn’t have happed to a lovelier person!”  Campbell has not yet been chosen for any major ads but is soon set to work with famed photographer Bruce Weber. Disney Does Barneys: Barneys New York is teaming up with Disney this holiday season as a follow-up to their Gaga’s Workshop program last Christmastime.  And they’ve enlisted some close friends to dress each character for the occasion—Balenciaga for Mickey, Lanvin for Minnie, and Cruella de Vil in Rick Owens, amongst others who will each act as runway models.  The new merchandise hits stores on November 14th.[WWD]

Lady Gaga's charity launches youth board

Lady Gaga's charity has launched a Youth Advisory Board.

The Born This Way Foundation - which aims to empower young people and give them more opportunities - invited 24 young people aged between 17 and 23 to Paramount Pictures in Los Angeles for a three-day summit to discuss how to create a "kinder, braver" world through the organisation.

Gaga's mother, Cynthia Germanotta - the foundation's president - said: "The goal of the youth advisory board is to reflect and magnify the strength, determination, creativity, and capacity of our youth, and to have them provide insight on the issues that are most important to them.

"It is the ideas, concerns, and aspirations of these youth that will shape our working model. My daughter and I envisioned the foundation as a youth movement, and through these young leaders, we will learn how to best engage the youth of America in co-creating a kinder, braver world."

The summit comes after the foundation unveiled its Born Brave Nation, which consists of groups of supporters who are dedicated to helping young people deal with challenges they face including homosexuality and bullying.

The new members of the youth advisory board will represent the viewpoints of other people their age.

Lady Gaga Covers Herself in Black Feathers and...

What would happen if Lady Gaga stopped posing for photos?

Would the sun melt? Would gravity fail us? Would the four horsemen saddle up early? Would makeup artists from SoHo to WeHo rend their garments and go into mourning?

Luckily we don't have to wonder. Because it's a brand new day, which means that a brand new photo of Mother Monster has emerged. So you can stop stockpiling the canned goods and bottled water—for now.

Check out Gaga's newest hair color, "Louis Vuitton Brown"

Behold the former Stefani Germanotta as she flaps her feathers for photographer Terry Richardson. The location: Outside a Chanel store in Finland. (Of course.) The reason: She was continuing the European leg of her Born This Way Ball tour with a dramatic greeting for Finnish fans.

Also? She's Lady Gaga.

As far as details, they're as soft as raven down at this hour, but we can tell you this: The feathers are part of a headdress, and we now have 23 hours before we start wondering where the next Gaga photo is.

Lady Gaga Pokes Fun at Lindsay Lohan—and Did She Really Diss Madonna?

Lady Gaga has expressed herself. But did she do it at the expense of two fellow stars in the process?

Today, Gaga playfully took aim at her Chateau Marmont sleepover pal Lindsay

Lohan, a day after LiLo was pronounced in the clear with regards to an alleged jewelry heist at a Hollywood Hills home.

"Me with my brother @mikelohan ready for dinner!" an off-the-hook Lindsay tweeted last night along with the photo to the left.

Lindsay banned from Chateau Marmont

Soon after, though, Gaga couldn't resist taking a little jab at the actress.

"@lindsaylohan ummmm are those my earrings??? this is awkward...:) kiss kiss," Mother Monster playfully inquired.

We're sure Lindsay got a good laugh at that—presuming she's not still stewing about her ban from the Chateau over a hefty unpaid bill. But Lohan was the only one Gaga took aim at.

Madonna defends using swastika and guns on tour in new manifesto

While performing in Helsinki, Finland, on Tuesday night, Mother Monster

reportedly exposed her rear, much in the same way the Material Girl did during a recent show in Rome.

What's more, according to The Sun, Gaga proceeded to yell, "I don't give a f--k what people say. We don't give a f--k. We know the truth."

Lady Gaga exposes her breasts in home video

Of course, as Madonna fans know, the singer's MDNA album just happens to feature a track called "I Don't Give A."

While we aren't 100 percent we can trust the source of this report, it wouldn't seem too far-fetched to see this as perhaps the latest in the Gaga-Madonna feud.
The digs supposedly stem from the fact that Madge has occasionally been singing Gaga's "Born This Way" while on tour as a way of showing similarities between the song and her own tune "Express Yourself."

So far reps for both artists have declined to blow this up. But, knowing both artists' penchant for causing a commotion, we're sure it's only a matter of time before we hear from them again.

Lady Gaga - Lady Gaga And Azealia Banks In Possible Collaboration

A Twitter conversation between Lady Gaga and Azealia Banks has fuelled speculation that the two will embark on a collaborative project, The Sun reports.

The singer of Born This Way, and meat-dress wearing artist Lady Gaga, has engaged in a twitter conversation on the micro-blogging social media site with rapper Azealia Banks, suggesting that the two will work together on a song or special one off performance. Banks tweeted "When Mother Monster calls ...", followed by: "Sh-- is about to get very f-----g real. (sic)." Gaga then confirmed to the millions of followers the stars tweet and that a phone call had taken place between the ladies: "Can you make 99 Problems my ring tone for when I call you, and then shout B**** Ain't One at me when you pick up? (sic)"

Representatives from both sides declined to comment on the subject, which will only serve to fuel the speculation further, as a flat out denial would have proved any mistruths. Gaga is open to sharing artistic royalties, having recently collaborated with Black Hippy crew member Kendrick Lamar and has previously worked with Beyonce Knowles on hit track Telephone.

Watch: Lady Gaga flashes boobs in home video posted on YouTube

Lady Gaga reckons her bare-breasted home video is "sweet".
It's not how most people would describe the clip, in which Gaga flashes her boobs for the camera but hey, this is Lady Gaga.

The 26-year-old uploaded the video to her YouTube page, revealing it was shot by her sister Natali in the family home during Christmas last year.

Presumably all the singer's YouTube subscribers have now been exposed to her bare chest, whether they were willing participants or not!

Gaga has a little giggle as she introduces the clip but that's the only warning she gives of the naughtiness to follow.

Fans will recognise the track in the background as the singer's song 'Scheibe'.

Do you think it was appropriate that Gaga uploaded her half nude dancing to YouTube? What will mamma monster's little fans (and their parents!) think of this? Have a vote below.

KISS: Lady Gaga is only new rock star

Los Angeles - Musicians in today's rock bands look like "garbage collectors" and the only true new star is Lady Gaga, members of the legendary heavy metal group KISS said in a chat with AFP.

"There are a lot of bands that have something. What's missing is stardom. The ability to get up on stage and rule, bigger than life," said KISS bassist and singer-songwriter Gene Simmons.

Dressed in black, without makeup, in silver neck chains and long hair, the creators of rock hymns like I Wanna Rock N Roll All Night and I Was Made for Lovin' You agreed the extravagant Lady Gaga stands alone among new performers.

"The only new rock star is Lady Gaga. That's it. She's a star," said Simmons, in white crocodile skin cowboy boots and a silk scarf. "There are some very, very good bands, I'm a big fan of Foo Fighters, but give me the stars."

'We are proud to be entertainers'

It's not just about the show, he said. "Elvis could walk up on stage with nothing. But charisma. Image. Mystique."

Paul Stanley, the group's star and lead vocalist, went further.

"Musicians who look like the delivery boy... don't realise that there's more. When big bands go on stage, they deliver their goods," he said.

"That's why we've been around 40 years, because people know when they come to see us, they're going to get their money's worth and they're going to be entertained. We are proud to be entertainers and a hell of a rock band."

'Too bad that politics gets in the way'

They also defended the Russian punk band Pussy Riot, whose members were sentenced to prison last week in Moscow.

"There are no stars. There's no Elvis, there's no... even Prince," said Simmons. "Stage presence - none of the bands have it, they look like garbage collectors. They look worse than the audience that comes to see them."

"There's no pride," said the 62-year-old, who is known for his own on-stage persona as "The Demon" in a band that flaunts over-the-top costumes and black-and-white makeup.

KISS's four band members spoke to reporters in The Viper Room, a renowned Hollywood bar where the actor River Phoenix died of a drug overdose in 1993.

Asked about the Pussy Riot furor in Russia, Simmons said they're "not a good band, but they have the right to do whatever they want to do. And it's too bad that politics gets in the way of rock bands."

Stanley said: "A strong country should never be afraid of freedom. And with freedom comes independence, a sense of independence, and many countries still want to squash that."

Analogue equipment
The band is promoting its KISS Monster Book as a collector's item. A limited edition of 1 000 copies, it is individually signed by the band's members and spans KISS's 40 year history. It includes 127 photographs, some never published before.

The affable rockers, who showed little trace of the fearsome personas they project on stage, told AFP they are recording their next album using analogue equipment, seeking beauty in imperfection.

Monster, their 20th studio album, is scheduled to be released in October.

"All the greatest music that was ever made, was made on tape, was analogue. The problem with computers and technology is, when it's not used for enhancement, it becomes a noose around your neck," Stanley said.

"You wind up looking for perfection instead of passion. And all the music that we grew up loving - Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Stones, James Brown, Motown, you name it - none of them were perfect, and that's what made them great."

Nicki Minaj as new 'American Idol' judge? Lady Gaga goes brunette, and more

Nicki Minaj performed on NBC's "Today" show in New York Aug. 14

Rapper Nicki Minaj is reportedly in talks to take a seat on the "American Idol" judge's panel for season 12 next to newcomer Mariah Carey. The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news Friday, and US Weekly also claims to have a confirmation. Veteran judge Randy Jackson has not yet confirmed that he will return to the show, and Enrique Iglesias's name is also floating around the rumor mill as a possible new judge. Time will tell if the entire panel is replaced this season (judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez announced their departures from the show after last season). What do you think of Minaj as a judge?

Lady Gaga is now a brunette. The typically blond pop megastar is known for her varying and often over-the-top fashion statements, but this time the "Born This Way" singer seems a bit softer sporting her light brown locks than her usual edgy vibe. Do you agree? She debuted the new color while in Amsterdam. Read more in US Weekly.

Lady Gaga Fame

The Lady Gaga Fame Fragrance is Nearly Upon Us!

Perhaps one of the greatest fragrance campaigns of all time, the Lady Gaga Fame parfum preview has changed what it means to promote something… or anything for that matter. Her creativity ran wild with this campaign and the end product was a thing of twisted beauty. Horrifingly twisted, but it had an edge of pure artistic nectar that burst from her steam punk goggles and washed over her nectarine colored bob.

To those who thought that Gaga was taking a holiday orworse,  all washed up… think again. This B*tch is hard at work and has obviously teamed up with the right people to produce this amazing piece of work.

When the likes of Paco Rabanne and Nicola Formichetti get together to dress Mother Monster, the result is a shimmering oil\ -slick paradise of muscled up men, reflective wide-brimmed hats, and latex in various shades. Obviously not everybody’s idea of a good time, but those who watch the somehow “explicitly” rated YouTube video promoting her new fragrance and get that feeling like they want to be a part of that twisted circus know exactly what I mean.

The Fame is the fragrance that has changed the industry for two reasons. 1. It’s black! That’s never happened before! And 2. The promotional video for this scent is incredible. Long story short…

Go buy it!

It has been said that the all black Eau de Parfum will not stain or otherwise damage clothing but I would still recommend avoiding light materials until someone you know has sprayed their white silk blouse and been through the dry cleaning process already. Why risk it? And I don’t care that they ruined their blouse… they obviously don’t read my blog, and that’s what happens when people don’t read my blog… sh*t gets damaged. So just to be safe you better sign up for my newsletter now.

Here is the epic video you’ve all been waiting for.

Oh and just in case you are wondering the fragrance has “Tears of belladonna, crushed heart of tiger orchidea with a black veil of incense, pulverised apricot and the combinative essences of saffron and honey drops.” Also to keep your fears at bay it apparently is designed to become invisible once it is sprayed from the bottle. So let loose a battery of sprays and engage the senses with a fragrance Gaga says can be worn by both women, and men.

Introducing Lady GaGa’s latest collaboration partner..

The singer is set to collaborate with rapper Azealia Banks if their latest Twitter exchange is anything to go by.

GaGa singer - who refers to her fans as Little Monsters - has been chatting with the 212 hitmaker hinting that the pair will be working together in the near future.

Azealia – who was popular on the festival circuit this year - tweeted: "When Mother Monster calls ...", followed by: "S**t is about to get very f***ing real."

GaGa then confirmed the phone call between the two, writing to Azealia: "Can you make 99 Problems my ring tone for when I call you, and then shout Bitch Ain't One at me when you pick up?"

Azealia later joked: "Talking to Lady GaGa on tha twitta ... NBD," before adding: "HUGE DEAL."

Hmmm… we wonder if it’ll be anything near as pointless as GaGa featuring on Beyonce Knowles’ Telephone.

It has also been speculated Azealia could also be close to signing on to appear on an upcoming leg of GaGa's Born This Way Ball tour.

Taylor Swift Bests Lady Gaga, Sets New iTunes Record

This just in: Taylor Swift is very popular.

The latest case in point: Swift's fans (T-Swizzlers?) have proved to be more aggressive and enthusiastic than 25 million Little Monsters, as they helped Swift earn a new iTunes record.

She bested Lady Gaga in the process.

Within 50 minutes of its release last night, Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" shot to the top of the iTunes singles chart, knocking "Born This Way" from its perch as the fastest-selling single in digital history.

While fans try to determine just which ex-boyfriend Taylor is singing about this time around, the artist prepared them last night - during a live Web chat - for another emotional album.

Speaking of October's "Red," the superstar previewed:

"All the different emotions that are written about on this album are all pretty much about the kind of tumultuous, crazy, insane, intense, semi-toxic relationships that I’ve experienced in the last two years.

"All those emotions - spanning from intense love, intense frustration, jealousy, confusion, all of that - in my mind, all those emotions are red. You know, there’s nothing in between. There’s nothing beige about any of those feelings."

Lady Gaga to ask for meeting with David Cameron next month

Lady Gaga is set to ask for a private meeting with UK Prime Minister David Cameron next month, according to reports over the weekend.

The 'Poker Face' singer has met with President Obama in the past to discuss her Born This Way Foundation, and, according to a report in Mail On Sunday, she wants to meet the Conservative Party leader as well.

A source told the paper: "Lady Gaga's foundation works with Harvard University and Obama's government. She hopes to discuss its objectives with the Prime Minister."

A spokesman for Cameron's Downing Street office then responded and seemed to be fairly receptive to the offer, saying: "If Lady Gaga gets in touch, we will respond."

Last week, Lady Gaga announced that her third studio album will be titled 'ARTPOP'.

The singer, who is expected to release the album in early 2013, tweeted the title of her new LP over the weekend via a new tattoo on her upper arm.

Writing about 'ARTPOP', the singer said that the title must all be written in capital letters and described it as an "album/project". She wrote: "Make sure when writing about my new album/project ARTPOP that you CAPITALIZE the title it's all in the details."

Gaga is currently in the middle of her 'Born This Way' ball world tour, which features 110 dates in all. The tour's European leg will begin again in Sofia, Bulgaria on August 14, before making its way to the UK for a pair of dates at Twickenham on September 8 and 9 and a third show at the Manchester Arena on September 11.

Poll: Lady Gaga Judges People Based On Their Manicures (Or Lack There Of). Do You?

Nails are clearly a big deal here at Glamour HQ. From inventive art to our favorite new releases, nail polish and manicures are something we're well versed in. Apparently, they're a huge deal to Lady Gaga as well. According to her latest V Magazine memo she even judges women based on their manicure (or lack there of). Do you think that's okay?

In her article, Gaga lists 6 reasons as to why a perfect manicure is imperative—some I agree with, some I don't.

The list includes: Having a perfect manicure instantly makes you feel beautiful and clean (agree!), it's a way to express yourself (agree!), it boosts your self esteem everyday (that's a pretty strong statement, no?), and it projects an image of success (which is "good for biz") (also a pretty strong statement).

After offering up some manicure inspiration, Gaga finishes with a little warning: "Ladies in lights, in the magazines, and on red carpets—know that I am judging your cuticles...but that's about it."

So do you agree with Gaga's reasoning? What do the current state of your nails say about you? My mani is embarrassingly jacked up so if you see me, please don't judge! Hit the comments and dish!

Lady Gaga blasted by PETA over fur photos

LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - PETA is really letting the fur fly over Lady Gaga's wardrobe.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals senior vice president Dan Mathews penned a scathing open letter to the "Poker Face" singer Monday, accusing the chanteuse of backing down from her anti-fur stance by sporting animal pelts in recent photos.

"Many of your gay fans, I among them, have long admired what you told Ellen: 'I hate fur and I don't wear fur,' Mathews' letter begins, referring to talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. " these recent photos of you in fox and rabbit and with a wolf carcass make it appear that you have amnesia."

Mathews goes on to ask Gaga if she's done an about-face on the subject of animal fur and suggests that the singer just might be targeted by the group when it cranks up its new awareness campaigns this fall.

"What happened? Are your stylists telling you that it's fake, or are you a turncoat?" Mathews wonders. "Many gays are animal advocates because we recognize that the same arrogance and indifference that some have toward animal suffering has at times been directed toward us personally because of our orientation. PETA has long participated in Pride events around the country, and just last week, we helped lead protests against Chick-fil-A. But by wearing those dumb furs in a heat wave, you're making yourself a target just like the mindless Kim Kardashian.

"As we plan our fall campaigns, please tell us whether what you gracefully told Ellen was heartfelt or just a pose," Mathews concludes.

Odd, one would think, that after Gaga sported an outfit made of animal flesh at the MTV Video Music Awards a couple of years ago, there would be precious little left for PETA to complain about.

A spokeswoman for the singer has not yet responded to TheWrap's request for comment.

Lady Gaga Saga Ends: Pop star confirmed for Nov. 3 in Costa Rica

A poker face no more. Superstar Lady Gaga will present her glitzy show for the first time in Costa Rica.

The performance will take place on Nov. 3, a Saturday, at the National Stadium in La Sabana, west of San José. Tickets go on sale for the general public Aug. 20.

The tour stop was posted simultaneously on Lady Gaga’s Facebook page and on the Facebook page of Costa Rican promoters RPMTV. The announcement came after months of speculation, and will be the pop sensation’s only stop in Central America.

At the beginning of June, the Costa Rican Sports Institute announced that the National Stadium had been reserved for Lady Gaga for either November 2, 3 or 4. RPMTV would not confirm the concert date. Still, this seemed to all-but-confirm Lady Gaga’s arrival to the isthmus.

But earlier this month, when Lady Gaga announced her Latin America tour, Costa Rica was not included on the list, giving Tico fans a reason to fret. Last week, RPMTV, put up a countdown on their Facebook page that ended Monday morning when – after a brief delay – the San José concert spot was made official.

The flashy singer and dancer best-known for her outlandish outfits (i.e.: she once wore a suit made of meat) and chart-topping hits like “Poker Face” and “Just Dance” has garnered millions of fans worldwide. The Grammy-winner is the most popular Twitter user with almost 28 million followers.

The “Born This Way” tour includes shows in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Argentina and Chile. Producers hope to attract fans from the rest of Central America to the Costa Rica show. The year-old stadium has a capacity of 35,000. Tickets will not be cheap.

The cheapest go for ₡28,000 ($56), while grandstand VIP tickets cost ₡92,000 ($184). Tickets will have a service charge between $10 and $20 depending on the location in the stadium.

English glam rock group The Darkness and DJ Lady Starlight will open for Lady Gaga. The Darkness scored a hit in the United States with the song “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” in 2003 before breaking up in 2006. The group reunited in 2011 and began appearing in a bizarre Super Bowl commercial at the beginning of this year. DJ Starlight is a Manhattan-based friend of Lady Gaga.

Lady Gaga’s tour began on April 27, in Seoul, South Korea. She will complete the European leg before heading to Mexico City. The tour has not been without controversy. Due to the concert’s raunchy production, demonstrators have protested outside performances, and a show in Indonesia had to be cancelled despite tens of thousands of tickets sold.

Prices (include service charge):

The Pit – VIP: ₡102,000 ($204)

Grandstand – East/West: ₡87,000 ($174)

The Pit – Regular: ₡36,000 ($72)

Grandstand – South: ₡33,000 ($66)

Presale: Credomatic cardholders will have access to a presale from Friday until Sunday at 3 p.m.

General Public Sale: Tickets go on sale for the general public on Monday, Aug. 20, at 10 a.m.

Lady Gaga’s Little Monsters Social Network Reinvents Personal Branding

It's been a month (since July 10th, to be exact) when a social youthquake tremor rumbled under the tweets and Facebook posts of the olds when Lady Gaga’s Little Monsters social network opened its doors to the public.

A raucous riot of visual updates from Gaga's legions of fans — with shades of Ticketmaster, Pinterest, Reddit, Tumblr and Facebook thrown in for good measure — the highly anticipated site defines the next iteration of fan-based social networking. Two weeks after launch, on July 25th, the site passed a quarter of a million users.

Powered by the Backplane, it was engineered by Gaga’s manager, Troy Carter, who's also a cofounder of Backplane. “The goal of Little Monsters and Backplane is to unite people around affinities, interests and movements,” said Matt Michelsen, co-founder and CEO. And to keep out all those aforementioned old-timers cluttering up Facebook and Twitter and ruining the party for fishnetizens who worship at the altar of Gaga and nonconformity.

The intention is for LittleMonsters to become an "ocean of videos, songs, posts" and artwork and images galore — and to break through that clutter for the causes that Gaga cares about while creating meaning and connections for fans. Smart digital features include multilingual chat rooms with proprietary instant translation; or as Gaga put it, "My network coders developed a seamless translating system. Your seeing your native language when you type, and I am seeing mine. Cool huh!"

It's a savvy next stage for the most followed person on Twitter with more than 28 million followers, which amounts to roughly 5% of Facebook’s total users — or as Gaga tweeted, "equivalent to the entire population of Australia and New Zealand combined."

Now Little Monsters “is creating a new type of social corridor, [filling] a gap in the current social spectrum by empowering sharing and conversation that is effortless but not automatic.” She's present if not hyperactive on LittleMonsters, posting comments such as teasers for her next album under the moniker "Mother Monster," while leaving the spotlight, as much as possible, to her fans.

Wired UK back in May looked at Carter's goals in launching a Gaga-branded social network, observing that “For several years, Carter has been plotting a digital disruption of the music business and, by extension, the whole entertainment industry.” With enough followers on Twitter alone to fill the state of Texas, Gaga’s reach is virtually unprecedented, as is her power to marshal her mass of little monsters.

“South by Southwest (SXSW) actually conducted a panel this year entitled “Celebrity and Causes” that focused on the best way for stars to use their 'celebrity megaphones. They discussed the attention Lady Gaga brought to the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell repeal effort. Gaga tweeted and posted Facebook statuses asking people to call Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and urge him to bring Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell to a vote. She also asked fans to phone Reid when she brought four gay veterans to the fall 2010 VMAs as guests. The Senate switchboard crashed from the amount of calls it received.”

Reid used Twitter to respond to Gaga with news that a vote was scheduled, which Little Monsters retweeted and posted on Facebook, and Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell was repealed.

“Facebook is people you went to high school with,” says Backplane CEO Matt Michelsen in a video interview with Reuters' Anthony De Rosa. “Little Monsters is people you wish you went to high school with.” Or at least Lady Gaga concerts with:

"You can go on somebody's Facebook profile and see they like Lady Gaga, but you don't know to what degree. Little Monsters shows how many concerts they've attended and their overall level of participation around a common interest."

On the digital disruption business side, while Gaga currently has a deal with Universal Records, “there will come a time when she’ll release music through her own site. It’s not just going to be about sells. It’s going to be about the streams coming through the site. For us, it’s important to be able to identify who’s listening to what. We want to own that data. We have to own that data,” Carter told Wired.

“Are single-brand social networks the future of digital marketing? Will new compensation models have to be made for celebrities and athletes to post for particular brands’ networks? Will Nike’s LittleSwooshes.com be Backplane’s next hit (URL currently available, by the way), or will this be a one hit wonder?” asks lonelybrand.com.

Backplane and Lady Gaga are forging the way for a deeper, wider digital dive that lets fans define their identity and interaction, and offers major celebrities a platform for heretofore unseen personal brand sway and success. It’s also a lot more personal and digital-savvy than some other personal branding efforts we've seen lately.

Lady Gaga Fame-Whores Her Puppy, Channels Cruella de Vil

Karl Lagerfeld shook the earth, moon, and stars when he introduced humanity to his new kitten, Choupette. As The Kaiser loves to say, his little furball is the most famous of all the cats — and that isn't an exaggeration. Magazines want to take her picture and the Internet wants to Tweet at her because she is cute and her life is cush: Choupette has two dedicated maids, a private garden, cockpit privileges when she jets to St. Tropez. She is so much more than a LOLcat — a mere feline jester — she is a celebrity, a true A-list deity, and her rising fame is only elevating Karl's own.

Since Lady Gaga has a black belt in fame and is scared to death of someone stealing it in the night, it appears that the pop star has taken note of the great press and attention Karl's benefitted from by acquiring a super-cute new pet. Mother Monster received a dog from boyfriend Taylor Kinney way back in April, but she's only now started taking her pup out on the town.

A couple of days ago, the performance artist arrived in Sofia, Bulgaria carrying the canine in a Louis Vuitton leather handbag, à la Paris Hilton. But today she decided to go for a more provocative dog-carrying look, cradling the puppy in the armpit of her massive fur coat. The effect is very Cruella de Vil.

If Lady Gaga wants to channel a puppy-napping villain, PETA is, of course, more than happy to treat her like one. The animal rights organization has already released a statement reminding the pop star that during the 2010 meat dress controversy, she said to Ellen DeGeneres, “I hate fur, and I don’t wear fur.”

Lady Gaga taking godmother role to Elton John’s son very seriously

Lady Gaga is getting an entire wing built in her new house on the Greek island of Crete, for Elton John and David Furnish’s son Zachary. John and Furnish chose her along with magazine editor Ingrid Sischy, and Sichy’s partner Sandy Brant as their tot’s godmothers. “GaGa is going to give Zachary his own nursery which includes a huge bedroom, playroom and bathroom and will overlook the Cretan sea,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.

“She’s already flown in special wallpaper and a big boy bed for a toddler because she knows the place won’t be finished for months,” the source said.

Zachary’s parents John and Furnish couldn’t praise GaGa enough.

“She’s all about inclusiveness and tolerance,” Furnish said.

“She believes you can be whoever you want to be, we don’t have to live in a world of conformity and we can all benefit from individuality,” he added.

Lady Gaga Baffles Fans As She Channels The Late Michael Jackson

Lady Gaga is clearly a big Michael Jackson fan; the singer was spotted sporting MJ's trademark face scarf and fingerless gloves while greeting fans in Sofia today.

Lady Gaga baffled fans in Sofia today when she showed up in a scarf mask - similar to those worn by Michael Jackson - as well as fingerless gloves, a floor length gown and loose platinum waves.

Strangely enough, it's one of the 'Poker Face' stars most demure looks to date!

The hugely popular singer signed autographs and posed for photos with her baying fans, along with a gorgeous labradoodle pup tucked into her Yves Saint Laurent tote.

After all, you're not a real celeb if you don't have a dog in your handbag.

We bet the folks of Sofia can't wait to see Lady 'Born This Way' Gaga perform tonight in concert - although we're pretty sure her furry friend won't be appearing alongside her.

Lady Gaga's new house will have several rooms for godson Zachary Furnish John

LADY Gaga is planning to have a special wing in her new house for her famous godson.

The outrageous pop star is apparently building a home on the Greek island of Crete. She wants to make sure there is plenty of room for Elton John's son Zachary when he visits.

"Gaga is going to give Zachary his own nursery which includes a huge bedroom, playroom and bathroom and will overlook the Cretan sea," a source told British newspaper The Sun.

"She's already flown in special wallpaper and a big boy bed for a toddler because she knows the place won't be finished for months."

Elton and his partner David Furnish welcomed their son Zachary Furnish John on December 25 2010 via a surrogate.

Gaga has previously revealed that she loves pampering her godson.

"Zachary's so beautiful. I could not see a happier family than I see in them. I gave him a bath the other day," the singer gushed.

"We have this sweet little boat for pouring water to rinse soap off Zachary and as I'm pouring, Elton is singing Tiny Dancer and I'm thinking, 'This kid has no clue that his father is such a legend'."

Lady Gaga to meet with British PM?

Lady Gaga is reportedly planning to fix a meeting with British Prime Minister David Cameron to discuss her charity plans.

The Poker Face star launched her Born This Way Foundation earlier this year to empower youngsters and stop bullying, and she has already won the support of U.S. President Barack Obama. Gaga is now hoping to take her charity work to Britain and she hopes to schedule a meeting with the Prime Minister when she is in London next month, according to British newspaper The Mail on Sunday.

A source tells the publication, "Lady Gaga’s foundation works with Harvard University and Obama’s government. She hopes to discuss its objectives with the Prime Minister."

A spokesman for Cameron's Downing Street office says, "If Lady Gaga gets in touch, we will respond."

Lady Gaga sightings in Chicago -- lots of restaurant visits but, curiously, not a lot of clubs

What do Chicago restaurants Spiaggia, Table Fifty-Two, Girl and the Goat and Topolobampo have in common? They all feature former “Top Chef” and “Top Chef Masters” contestants in their kitchens. And, not coincidentally, they’ve all been visited by Lady Gaga this year.

Gaga is a big fan of the Bravo cooking competition shows, as evidenced by her trips to Spiaggia. While dining at the Michigan Avenue restaurant Aug. 5, the mega pop star told Spiaggia chef and “Masters” Season 2 contestant Tony Mantuano she’d been rooting for him on TV; when she dropped in back in March, Gaga sought out Spiaggia executive chef Sarah Grueneberg, a finalist on “Top Chef” Season 9.

Gaga (real name: Stefani Germanotta) met Table Fifty-Two chef Art Smith at an “Oprah Winfrey Show” taping and told Winfrey’s former personal chef she was upset he didn’t win the first season of “Masters” (Rick Bayless, who posed for a photo with Gaga when she visited Topolobampo in March, won that season). Smith now calls Gaga a close friend and earlier this year opened a restaurant, Joanne Trattoria, with her father in New York.

“Gaga I so love you for coming (to Table Fifty-Two) tonight for dinner,” Smith tweeted Friday (the restaurant confirmed the visit). “So sorry I wasn't there but my LOVE was:-) I hope you tasted it?”

Gaga — who has been in town visiting rumored boyfriend Taylor Kinney while he films NBC’s “Chicago Fire” — visited Girl and the Goat, which is co-owned by “Top Chef” Season 4 winner Stephanie Izard — Aug. 3. The “Poker Face” singer ate pig face, among other items.

The list of places Gaga has been spotted in Chicago in recent years is long, and includes Delilah’s, Whole Foods in the Gold Coast, Kuma’s Corner, The Chicago Diner, Karyn’s Cooked, Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria in the River North neighborhood and, more recently, Pizano’s Pizza in the Loop with Kinney in the early hours of Aug. 5. Noticeably absent from this list?

Nightclubs.

Gaga performed at Enclave and the now-closed Manor in 2008 but has seemed to shy away from Chicago’s trendy clubs, for the most part, since then. It appears she didn’t even hit the clubs during Lollapalooza last weekend, when her fellow celebrities were out in full force. Instead, I'm told Gaga attended a small “Chicago Fire” cast get-together Aug. 4 at a private residence. And in case you’re wondering, she went by “Stefani” that night.

Lady Gaga likes to 'have sex at night on the beach when no one’s around'

Despite her colossal fame, Lady Gaga reveals that she still manages to make time to act wildly and have fun.

“I still find time to have sex at night on the beach when no one’s around. Or roll into a bar and get f***ed up and dance with my top off. It’s just that no one ever sees that,” Gaga told Vogue’s September issue.

The “Paparazzi” singer describes herself as a “complete free spirit” and admits she likes to act a little “irresponsible” from time to time.

“I don’t worry about people seeing any of those things… I like to have private moments, but in public! …a little irresponsible and act like I am nineteen,” she said.

Gaga just announced the name of her new album will be ARTPOP, as well as just revealed a picture of herself skinny dipping with her boyfriend Taylor Kinney.

But don’t expect her to settle down any time soon.

"[I want to] make records and party and screw around and wear fake Chanel," she told Vogue. “[I’m not looking to] settle down and live in a house yet or anything. I just want to keep riding this rainbow.”

Lady Gaga sparks marriage rumor with wedding dress picture

Lady Gaga sparked engagement rumors Tuesday when she posted a photo to her Little Monsters website trying on wedding dresses with friends at the Vera Wang bridal boutique in New York City. Shooting down speculation of impending nuptials to boyfriend and “The Vampire Diaries” actor Taylor Kinney, she captioned the photo “It’s my best friends wedding she made us try on dresses! BRIDESMAIDS VERA Baby” Gaga released the picture after Luxe International CEO Marjorie Gubelmann posted the image to her Instagram account with the caption “”Loving @ladygaga in @verawanggang #picoftheday #instahub #instacool.” The usually outré Gaga is the picture of the fairy tale bride in a strapless fishtail gown by Vera Wang but we’re betting when Gaga really walks down the aisle (or is carried in an egg, or shot out of a canon) she won’t be so restrained. Here are five bridal looks we’d like Gaga to consider if she decides to make Kinney Mr. Monster.

Lindsay Lohan to star in Lady Gaga's next music video: report

Lindsay Lohan's career may be officially on the upswing thanks in part to Lady Gaga.

The actress, who currently has her plate full with two film projects and one in the works, is set to star in Gaga's new music video.

It seems that the pair has become fast friends in the wake of Gaga posting pictures of a slumber party the two had at Chateau Marmont hotel in Hollywood last month.

"They've become good friends, they talk and text all the time," a source told E! News. "Gaga really likes Lindsay and Lindsay is really happy to be able to be part of (the video)-she has a genuine respect and admiration for Gaga and her music."

No details have been released in regard to Lohan's reported role, but the video will be for the first single off Gaga's next album, ARTPOP, according to the site.

Lohan has been making a comeback in recent months after several brushes with the law and a few stints in rehab.

The 26-year-old stars as Elizabeth Taylor in the Lifetime biopic "Liz and Dick," is acting opposite porn star James Deen in "The Canyons" and is set to appear in "Scary Movie 5" alongside Charlie Sheen.

Lady Gaga Wears Hot Pink Fur Coat, Accessorizes With Poodle, Natch

Because Khloé Kardashian Odom was spotted in a leather mini—even though it's the middle of a sweltering summer—and now Lady Gaga appears to have skinned a muppet to make a hot-pink fur coat in which to broil herself in.

Whatever the case, here she is: The Mother Monster in head-to-toe Giorgio Armani at the store's New York boutique.

Are Lady Gaga and Lindsay Lohan really teaming up for a music video project?!

Her accessory? Not the usual unicorn horn or new BFF Lindsay Lohan, no—this time Gaga went for something more stylish. Something as fluffy and decadent as the very coat in which she may never escape from—aka a chic toy poodle and a glass of champagne, natch.

All we can say is that pooch better make a quick escape—we smell a Cruella de Vil type moment approaching and we'd hate for her next fur coat to be poodle!

Lady Gaga’s September ‘Vogue’ Cover Is Appropriately Awesome

After threatening the magazine with bagels via Twitter , Lady Gaga finally got her hands on her second Vogue cover.

“Who else sees me channeling @RuPaul on the COVER of VOGUE. If only I was as fierce as you b*tch. I did try to come for you with that weave,” the superstar Tweeted after sharing the striking image.

Gaga is statuesque, almost Gumby-like, donning a pink Marc Jacobs fishtail gown paired with poufed-out hair — a major departure from her first Vogue cover.

Inside the September issue, Gaga discusses her upcoming fragrance and the recent reuse of her infamous meat dress. “We were talking about putting the show together,” she says of her latest tour, “And I said, OK, what if I was someone’s grandma and I was going to a concert tonight. How would I know that it was a Gaga show? And we all just sort of looked at each other and said,’The meat dress.’”
