Lady Gaga offered role in Ben Stiller's Zoolander sequel

LADY Gaga has been tipped to play Ben Stiller's love interest in Zoolander 2, according to reports.

The Born This Way singer has been offered $US4.8 million to feature in the follow-up to the 2001 cult comedy, claims UK newspaper The Sun.

The sequel will see Stiller reviving his most iconic role as dim-witted fashion model Derek Zoolander.

Owen Wilson and Will Ferrell will also resume their respective roles as obnoxious model Hansel and manipulative Jacobim Mugatu.

Gaga is believed to be on a short list with stars including Kate Moss, Kate Upton, Heidi Klum and Adriana Lima also being considered for the love interest role.

“Gaga is top of their wish-list. She has the talent and attitude - and an amazing sense of humour,” a source told the publication.

Stiller, who is actor, director and producer of the project, recently opened up about the new plot.

“It’s ten years later and most of it is set in Europe. I don’t want to give away too much, but it’s basically Derek and Hansel ten years later,” he told Empire magazine.

Filming is scheduled to begin early next year.

Meanwhile, Gaga has been a busy girl herself. The 26-year-old is reportedly preparing to launch her own brand of bottled water.

“We know that the water drink is due out in the near future. No one has seen prototypes of the bottle," an insider revealed to the New York Daily News.

“Gaga water is something that has been in the pipeline for a few months, and now things are really gearing up to an announcement and high-profile launch.”

The Bad Romance star's weight has come under scrutiny recently after photos emerged showing her looking larger than usual.

Sources claim the weight gain is part of a multi-million dollar global advertising campaign to tie in with the launch of her water brand. Gaga will allegedly lose weight before the drink's launch.

Her Haus of Gaga creative team are reportedly putting the finishing touches to the new product.

“Gaga has been at the centre of a lot of attention over her weight increase. Losing her weight in such a short time and launching a healthy water drink may be part of a plan," the spy continued.

"Everyone at Gaga HQ is keeping very tight-lipped. There are plans being prepared for marketing strategies.”
