Lady Gaga Is Auctioning Off A Bunch of Nike Air Foamposite One “ParaNorman” Sneakers

Were you “weird enough” to win a pair of the Nike Air Foamposite One “ParaNorman” sneakers that Nike gave away last month in conjunction with the release of the ParaNorman movie? The contest asked people to post “weird” photos from their younger days on Twitter and those deemed “weird enough” were given a pair of the “ParaNorman” sneakers. That was the only way people could get their hands on a pair—they weren’t released in stores—so it had even the toughest dudes posting up wacky pics from their youth. Well, as it turns out, you can still get your hands on a pair of the sneakers if you weren’t able to win them, assuming, of course, you’re willing to pay a pretty hefty price for them.

Right now, Lady Gaga‘s Born This Way Foundation is auctioning off a bunch of the “ParaNorman” sneakers—starting with a size 6.5 and working all the way up to a size 11.5 with more sizes to come—on eBay. The Born This Way Foundation was founded by Gaga back in 2011 and works to promote the social acceptance of all young people throughout the world. So, the partnership between Born This Way and Nike works well in this instance as 70 percent of all of the eBay sales of the “ParaNorman” sneakers will go directly to Gaga’s foundation.

Now, for the bad news. If you’re interested in buying a pair of “ParaNormans” through one of Born This Way’s auctions, you’re probably going to have to sell your entire sneaker collection to do it. Currently, most of the “ParaNorman” Foams are going for upwards of $2000. There are also only about 80 pairs or so, so you’re going to be in for a battle if you really, really want to get your hands on a pair. It’s for a good cause and all. But, still: Would you be willing to pay a couple grand for one pair of sneakers when that same price could get you four or five other pairs of Foamposites? Let us know in the comments section.
