Lady Gaga snapped wearing 'wacky' NZ sunnies

As New Zealand Fashion Week begins to wrap up, Lady Gaga has been spotted wearing sunglasses from a top Kiwi designer's collection while on tour.

Lady Gaga was snapped wearing Karen Walker's zany Iris frames in black as she left a hotel during her tour in Germany this week.

The UK's Daily Mail drew comparisons to Johnny Depp's character Willy Wonka, saying it "looked as though she had stepped off the set" of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

"Bearing more than a passing resemblance to Johnny Depp's kooky character in the 2005 Tim Burton movie, the Marry The Night hitmaker teamed her wacky sunglasses with an '80s-style lime green round-collared jacket."

"She's by no means a shrinking violet when it comes to her fashion choices," the report said.

The Herald Sun also reported on the green framed sunglasses, with the headline: "They don't Kerm any wackier than Lady Gaga".

The Sun said that the eccentric star "channelled the charismatic amphibian when it came to choosing her latest outfit".

The Iris frames come in black and pink and are available in store and online.

Gaga is not the first celebrity to be seen showing off Walker's range.

Fellow music superstars and fashion icons Gwen Stefani and Katy Perry have been photographed wearing Walker's Number One sunglasses.

Rihanna has been spotted wearing the same frames several times, along with other designs from Walker's range, including the Super Duper Strength Sunglasses.

New Girl star Zooey Deschanel also has an eye for Walker's designs wearing sunglasses, coats and a prom dress from her collection.

American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez has been seen wearing Walker's high-waisted wide-leg jeans, while actress Drew Barrymore was snapped in Walker's knot sleeve stripe top.

Meanwhile, Walker chose to show at New York Fashion Week over New Zealand Fashion Week this year.

The premiere event begins this weekend, as New Zealand shows finish.

Walker told 3News last month that her label is an "international brand", and for the Kiwi market she likes "to show what's in store now, because trade here is relatively small".

Top designer Huffer is set to show offsite at New Zealand Fashion Week at 7.30pm.

There will also be a Designer Collection Show and a Miromoda Showcase today.
